Our Team

Rev. Sheena Trotter-Dennis (she/her)
Minister

Sheena is responsible for the worship and programming experience at Knox.  She preaches regularly and leads the Wednesday Connection and Reflection service.  She jokes that she is a “professional meeting attender.”

Sheena has been at Knox since the fall of 2022.  Before that she served at Hillhurst United Church in Calgary, and United Methodist Churches in Southern California and Houston, Texas.  She attended Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  She loves the diversity of local church ministry and the intersection of practical theology and spirituality.  Knox is particularly special because of its diverse, fluid, downtown community.

She is the proud mother of Katherine, Lauren and Oliver (her favourite labradoodle) and partner of Pete Dennis.   She enjoys any time in the amazing Rocky Mountains and walking through our beautiful city.

Christine Sizer (She/Her)
Children’s Ministry

Christine is in charge of the children's ministry at Knox United Church. She helps to organize activities like stories, crafts, and play twice a month during church services to help build the youth community. She began this initiative in September 2023, working to create fun ways for kids to engage, inspired by her own experiences as a mother wanting her son to have a sense of community at church.

With a background in volunteering in Sunday School and leading youth camps, Christine feels called to help the next generation build safe spaces to share their faith. An avid craft-lover, she enjoys everything from cross-stitch and crochet to working on accessible crafts and projects with her son.

Christine has been married for 15 years and is the mother of a creative, legally blind 9-year-old boy. Her family also includes two cats, Lilypad and Snowflake, and her son's companion dog, Matilda, who often accompanies them to church.
